This dynamic sibling team runs Hanna Holdings, the holding company for Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, one of the nation's largest family-owned real estate brokerages has over 7,100 agents responsible for over 90,000 transactions totaling $17.43 billion in sales volume.


In 2018, Howard Hanna deepened its position as a strong traditional industry leader with the acquisition of Allen Tate Companies, the 27th largest brokerage in the nation according to the 2018 Mega 1000. This Carolina powerhouse with almost 2,100 agents closed 22,273 transactions and $5.672 billion in sales in 2017, and moves Howard Hanna neck-and-neck with Redfin as the fifth largest brokerage in the nation based on sales volume.


For their continued growth despite the mounting onslaught from various new business models such as Compass, Redfin and eXp Realty, the leaders of Howard Hanna fill out the top 10 for the first time.


Howard "Hoddy" Hanna

Hoddy oversees Hanna Holdings as chairman. He obtained his real estate license at age 18 and, following his father's footsteps, serves as the firm's idea man. Philanthropic-minded, Hanna currently serves as chair of the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Board of Trustees and as a member of the hospital's foundation board. He also completed a term on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. He is a graduate of John Carroll University.


Helen Hanna Casey

Helen, who began working at Howard Hanna in 1975, serves as CEO of Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, where she plays a large role in developing the firm's marketing efforts. She was the first woman elected as president of West Penn Multi-List and the first woman to serve as chair of the NAR Real Estate Services Advisory Group.


With the retirement of Amy Bohutinsky from Zillow Group, Casey regains the position as the most powerful woman in real estate in 2019. She is a graduate of Georgian Court University.
